Memorizing tests and FREE DRESSAGE ARENA DIAGRAMS!

Hi everyone... a lot of you have been asking me about how i begin to diagram a pattern or how i start to memorize a test.

I start with these blank arena diagrams... I find them useful for a number of things.
1. Memorizing regulation tests.
2. Learning the exact geometry of the arena.
3. Learning my exact tangent points for movements such as circles and serpentines.
4. Drawing my tests from beginning to end.
5. Drawing each movement according to where the judges are judging. (this way I know whe… Continue

There are four categories that the judges must consider when listening… Continue

HOW TO POLISH YOUR BOOTS TO PERFECTION

HOW TO POLISH YOUR BOOTS TO PERFECTION

Ok... I admit I am a little OCD... but its part of my routine when i am getting ready for a show or class... i use the quiet time to go over my test and think about my plan... and boy do my boots shine!! Ruth

1. Start with a clean and DRY boot. (Use a salt remover type product, or water, NEVER EVER a SOAP product. SOAP or oiled products will leave a residue and no matter how hard you try, they will never shine!)
2. Only use the old-fashioned boot polish… Continue

thanks Ruth, great pics, encouraged by your accomplishments and the fun you are having along the way. Need one of those mechanical horses here in the Interlake, lol, as long as it comes with a coach.
Having a hard time getting my head around the fact riding is lifelong quest for improvement as I am an immediate results person (or else I dont go there) Good thing nobody pointed that out before I dove in.......

You do clinics up in Ontario? It's the St.Lawrence area that I live by. I will see if I can get some interest in a clinic, or maybe for a Pony Club thing (I'm in Pony Club) Thanks!

I live in Prescott, Ontario, Canada, it's an hour away from Ottawa. Prescott is a small town, but there are suprisingly a lot of horse barns around, especially dressage ones! =)

Saw the video, just a few moments and the imporatnce of good music is defined.
The horse in my photo is 7/8TH/1/8 AQH, he would need something quite glammy and rocky as he has a big almost warmblood movement 18 months on from the photograph.
The video did make me smile.
