Chazot a OTTB horse running to his front pasture, same each morning. 17.3 hand 4 yr old
With a true horseman Jean Luc Cornille. Notice this is a very hot horse, spirited, and yet Jean Luc in stall, no halter, putting on his bell boots. The horse is alert, spirited, he is not submissive, he is a partner without any breaking of spirit, no domination, this is a horse we could not touch, halter, much less put bell boots on...he learned we do not hurt, cause fear or pain, he gave us a chance. They have intellect no need to dominate. His energy and spirit will reflect in his dressage.....stay tuned...watch the journey...

Yes he does not have meanness at all. He learned to fight at the racetrack, he was lip chained for any contact, and took groups of people to handle him. He has a nasty scar on his lip from where it looks like they almost tore his nose off with a chain. On race track(I watched videos of him) on every stroke of whip, he slowed and was all over the track. I flew to Washington to see him and in his eyes was not meanness but fear..You could not touch any part of him and he wanted no contact with humans. All he knew was to fight.(rear , violent kicking and bite) It has taken many months and one step at a time, we gave him a chance and he then gave us a chance, which we will never betray. We love his spirit and his strong opinions..;) Now he is learning to be a horse and as you can tell he is thrilled with pasture life(he was only turned out in very small dirt paddocks before.) He seeks us out now, running to greet, and stands quietly to be brushed and handled. Still has moments, as the memories of past remain, we have a long way to go, he is an extraordinary athlete and working with his intelligence is a wonderful journey. Have a video of first time putting a bridle on, took over 45 mints, JL remained quiet and gentle as Chazot flung him around stall, towards end Chazot seeks out JL putting his head in JL arms. He was stunned by no pain, no panic on JL part, after it was done Chazot wanted to follow JL. I wondered how many more times would he struggle before complete acceptance, next day I went in to bridle, he took it at once without any struggle. :) Jean Luc is amazing with horses, we have some very violent ones that come in for reeducation, most from pain,as well as bad training and riding, within days they are like pets, seeking him out, as he speaks to their minds, working with their intelligence to educate, then changing their bodies with gymnastics to end the pain. Thank you all for the wonderful comments about Chazot.

He is spirited with a high energy level, yes. I think he is a horse with great intellligence and sensitivity that simply will not tolerate rough treatment. Thank goodness Chazot has found the best owner and trainer for him. There is no malice or meanness in Chazot, only youthful high spirits and enthusiasm. He has the "look of eagles". His collected canter is sure to be lovely evidenced by his gallop kinematics. Clearly he has a highly cooperative nature, because he stands still for his bellboots voluntarily without needing to be dominated as he associates standing still and quietly with freedom rather than restriction. This trainer is prouving that horse training requires specific attitudes and mind states from the human partner not just physical technical skills.
