Hey everyone I'm from Victoria in Australia where the bush fires were. It was very scary, the smoke spooked the horses and you couldn't see where you were going luckily it didn't come close enough to us to force us to evacuate, thank god. I know someone who did have to evacuate though, my best friend tayla, they didn't know that there was even fires around untill they walked outside and saw the falme coming over their back fence! so they got the pets and the family and got out as quick as they could. they just made it out, they were the last ones out of kinglake (where the fires began).
Unfortunatly the fires wiped out everything of theirs including the house but thankfully they are still here with me today including the pets. that is the main thing after all, because the house can be re built, money can be earnt and possessions can be replaced but people can't be, so i am very greatful to still have my best friend here by my side =)

I think the guy who saved the koala should be given a medal, they stopped on the road when they seen him and the guy gave him some water to drink, poor little guy had second and third degree burns on his feet brought a tear to my eye. At least there are some good people out there willing to help out all thoses animals in distress. And I heard they don't quiet know what the death toll will be for the animals, one lady said she seen a kangaroo with flames at her back running down the road. Its a good thing we have good fire fighters from the bush in Alberta going to help them.

We call them bush fires over here. Isn't it horrible to watch it on the news, seeing all those houses and farms totally distruied! (sp?) We had a little fire break out just last Friday about 1km up the road from our place. God, it was scary! The amount of smoke that came from just a tiny grass fire, i can't imagine what these poor people are going through.
