I think the water jump is a little deep...

I think the voice is the most important aid; but the tone of the voice more so. Using different tones of my voice I can ask my horse to do different movements and vary the speed - something very useful in a dressage test! He also slows down or speed…

Another great post William! And I enjoyed the article in H&H, it was very informative and useful :) I think it is so important for the horse to learn to "re-balance" its weight with the rider on top, but a lot of horses are ridden on a tight rein so…

I don't have much time now, but I could tell you a lot more later today, so I might comment again. He has a very steep and long slope from his croup to his dock, which usually means a shortened gait but lots of power. thick throatlatch, that combine…

ok, thank you :) I will remember to let him stretch and relax before asking for flexion, as then that may help him.

good technique is never a problem, all you have to do is take shorter lines to the jumps .. he looks super in the dressage!!

thank you for replying :) Being thick through the throatlacth, that means that he would find it more difficult to flex correctly? He is just under 8 inches of bone, but is inbetween riding horse and LW hunter showing classes. Will work on lower leg,…

Hi Onlyme, I don't think there are to many conformation 'problems' with this horse. He has a super style over the jumps!! You've done a great job on this horse, getting him to 1* is a big deal. How long have you been in 1*? What I always say is "If…

He is a nice horse. Forehand faults--Somewhat thick through the throatlatch. Light bone (cannon) below the knee. Long steep front pasterns. Hindquarter faults--The hind leg is slightly overangulated. The gaskins look adequately muscled. It would hel…

Hi everyone :) Was wondering if you could possibly critique my horse's conformation? I am trying to see his bad points and good points, but need a little guidance as to whether they are correct! :P I think he is weak in his second thigh (try saying…
