Diffuculty in Transporting Frozen, cooled, embro tranfer over the Boarder? I am slightly confused as to what is going on.

Yesterday the Cdn Food Inspection Agency further tightened restrictions on equine imports to Canada. Not only are there more rigorous requirements for health certification for ALL horses (and continued restrictions on importing/transporting horses from Florida to Canada), but the import of either frozen or fresh semen, or equine embryos, will become increasingly difficult / costly effective Jan. 26.
Now people are making breeding plans, bidding on stallion auctions etc - and many Canadian breede… Continue

I would much prefer to go the fresh rout too but she's still competing the stallion and does not stand him, just ships out frozen. I think May is a good time to be starting the breeding. I should be all settelled in with the baby by then and Anthony will be home. As soon as I'm home, I'll start tracking her heats. It'll be so convenient to have at least one stallion on the property!

Okay. I'll call Roxey and see what she has to say about breeding with frozen. I'm having this funny little feeling that that mare will only take one dose, wouldn't that be fun. I'll just follow doctor's orders with bringing her back and forth. Having access to a trailer will definitely help as well, unless we can working out a boarding and hauling arrangement if we can get her to cycle with yours. Just throwing that out there. His service covers two straws per shipment. The AI farm that Petra goes through is the only one who does his shipment, I believe. I don't think there's another dealer for him. I'll just keep asking questions and talking to people.

Thanks Renee!! Hope the baby's being nice to you. Mine's growing like a weed!

In your opinion, who would be more successful? Roxy or Ummm, 5 star? In Spruce Grove. I know they're much closer. I spoke to them already and they expect she'd stay with them approximately a month. This mare has only been AId but with cooled, and twice out of 3 concieved twins, which one was successfully banded each time. Apparently this mare is very fertile and I'm counting on it!! But, please let me your thoughts, experiences and opinion! Thank you!

Hi Renee:
Thanks for joining my group!!! You know how much I love Eastern Ruler and actually, my very dear friend, Eve Mainwaring was the one that brought him to Canada inutero and I know Eve thinks very highly of the horse as well. Do you know Eve? She is the top judge for Canadian warmblood and is such an incredible horse person at 83 years of age. She is the one that found Big Ben for Ian and was a partner in the horse. I don't know anyone with a better eye for a great horse.

Hi Renee:
I spoke to you on the telephone a few months ago about one of my mares whose dam is an Eastern Ruler mare. Actually, the little picture by my name is the mare I spoke to you about and her 2007 foal. I just came on the computer tonight and of course immediately recognized Eastern Ruler - what a coincidence. Hopefully you will have time to visit my website some time and see the other pictures of her (Rhumba Z). My site is www.euroequestriansales.com Looking forward to keeping in touch in the future.
Happy New Year

With an inexperienced horse, do you find it's easier to work on lateral movements a little each day, or a little every few days? I don't want to tax his good will, but I do want to make progress.
