I hugged them for you! And that's great that your husband is getting back into horses. After all what would we do without horses? It would be a sad world without their big strong yet gentle eyes to look into when your sad or happy. What do you think a world without horses?(It would aboustly suck in my book!)
I got them from a trader in east texas who was selling them very cheap. I do Dressage, Jumping, and trails, I also like to train kids in my spare time. So how are your horses doing? None of them sick or anything? Snip has been kind of sick this week, but doing much better now(I'm glad to be able to say that!)
Hi Vicki,
Thanks very much for your suggestion. I will try it out on the week end. I did get some nice work from her this morning, so I must try and do whatever I did again and see if I can get it consistently. We have some side reins like the ones you mentioned so i will use them tomorrow.
This is wonderful - thank you everybody !
hi rekha: with a horse like that i go back to lunging in side-reins so they learn where their head is supposed to be. i first use side reins with a large web elastic bit and they go on the girth, up between the front legs and then attach to the bit rings. this way the horse must use it's back, with side reins from the side of the girth, they can go hollow, so i have used the elastic ones first. then when that's going well i switch to regular placed side reins-leather with a round rubber 'donut' in them that has a bit of give. i haven't had trouble with horses going above the bit.
hi and Snip is doing fine! Last night we even lunged him. He will be our little jumper when he's older! He has already strated to train for dressage, but he seems to like jumping.
