Thank you for sharing...I've been doing some of this work with my boy (horse) and girl(pony). They are not so enthusiastic but I just love playing with them.

Yes, I always wear my brain bucket when riding. I don't much like it as it gets so hot and my hair is a disaster but I don't like the alternative. We are all riding such powerful beasties...we cannot ever become complacent. I have to admit that I do…

Hello to everyone. We had very dangerous storm her in Southern Ontario yesterday with several tornado touchdowns. One of the horse barns was badly hit RCRA with much damage done to buildings, trailers and cars. I was talking to a lady who was there…

*laughing* good idea Ann. I saw a couple of ponies over the weekend...one needed a stick of dynamite under his tail to make him go...one was too young with too much go, and the other was a rig! Can you understand my frustration? Maybe it's time for…

Greetings to you Ann out there in BC. I've heard it is truly beautiful there. BC is on my most-wan- to-visit list. Mmmmm...some day. As for your dear pony... I need this pony for a 5 year old beginner rider and it sounds like your guy has a little…

Woo Hoo!!! With a little bit of practice, I could be one of those acrobat riders. What d'ya think?

Hello, it's me Maureen Yeah, I'm still looking for that perfect pony. I have one on the radar at the moment but I'm trying not to get too excited. I've been here before and been disappointed. When I started this search I had no idea how difficult th…

Thanks Jackie, I went to this site and e-mailed a few that look promising. Now we wait...

I also found this site, equine.com which has a Horses for sale section. I saw several POA's available, some within you price range. At least you might get some leads.
August 9
Thank you Jackie, I'll check out the website.

The POA website is poac.org. They have a list of breeders and shows. I don't know much about the breed now or their prices, but I saw a classified for a brood-mare at $2500 US$. Considering the economy that price may be wishful thinking. These ponie…

Hello Jackie, I would welcome any breed. If the pony is sound and healthy and safe...that 's all I'm concerned about. I'm willing to pay up to $1500 and I thought I would get one for that price...I'm not looking for a show pony. One that is retired…

Have you tried POA's (Pony of the Americas)? I had one once, a 12.2 gelding I got for one of my sons (in trade) that I was able to ride enough to get him behaving. They have appy coats, and tend to be western ponies, but sometimes you have to go out…

Sounds like you had a great time. I have a friend of my daughter-in-law who wants to go trail riding. Would you recommend this for a beginner and how much do they charge? Still no luck with the pony hunt. I've contacted just about everyone now with…

You are welcome. Sometimes our minds go- brain fart is the term my riding instructor when either I or the horse miss a mental beat. Just got back from 2 hours of up and down trail riding at Pleasure Valley. Wow! Bushwhacking is great!

Yes, that's my granddaughter and me and thanks for the positive comments. I've posted in the general form so here's hoping.
Where are you? I'm in Ontario, Canada and I ride my beautiful big chestnut warmblood, Loewenhart as often as I possible can. I'm a dressage rider, or I should say a wannabe dressage rider.

Awwwwwwwwww Maureen .....
Bless Your Heart!!
I LOVE it that you're searching for a pony for your 5 year old daughter!!
And I LOVE the Way you're shopping, and the words you used to describe the pony your looking for!!!
... very safe ...One on which she can begin her riding lessons ... Age doesn't matter but must be healthy..

Good On Ya Maureen!!!
Why Can't MORE parents look for "first time" ponies that fit Your description!!

As far as the "proper" place to post an ad ....YES, ... if you go to the forum ... scroll down, you'll find "Free Classifieds" ....and you're welcome to post it there .... but ... were it me ... I wouldn't really post it as an ad.
I'd post it in the "Forum" ... under "General Discussion"
In my opinion, I Think it would get more, and better quality of attention.
And I Genuinely think "Searching for a child's First Pony" is VERY Worthy of discussion!!!

..... also as a side note ... there are some Awesome "Well Respected" Extremely Knowledgeable - VERY Successful - horse folk here in Barnmice ... that might never see your ad in the "classified" section .... but ..... under general discussion, they WILL see it ... what show person doesn't know of GOOD Solid ponies available, that have been outgrown by their rider and now need a New Rider!!
...just my thoughts mind you ... lol ...

Let me know how the searching goes.
I'm Certain You'll find Just The Right Pony!!
and again ... Welcome to Barnmice / Don't be Shy ...Wade Right on in!!!
Everyone's Going To Just Think You're Terrific!!
