Fiona. I had a truly dangerous horse and I just learned how to show him that I could be leader, and we went nice and slow..... I hope you stay safe. I can totally recommend that you watch Chris Irwin's videos to show you some real subtle body lang...
Hi Fionna--Let me say first that I do not know you and your horse, every case is different.
I find that a simple way to establish leadership at a distance (not touching) is to bring my shoulders back and inflate my chest, and then stepping forward...
I'm joining this one because I require much needed encouragement in getting a little more snippy with my horse. She's only a year old and she is the leader pretty much. XD

- My husband and I own and operated a therapeutic riding program called Giddyup and two equine-assisted leadership programs; The Lead Horse which offers corporate leadership training and team building, and THINK Like a Horse for school and community groups. We live with our twenty horses on our farm in Stouffville, Ontario.
I am particularly interested in natural horsemanship and anything pertaining to horse behaviour and psychology.

I saw a comment on the driving page about you asking about any driving clinics in southern Ontario. There is a Learn to Drive Clinic thats held in on Sat/Sun April 18-19 '09. They provide you with well schooled horses and ponies and teach you how to harness up and drive. For more information go to www.driveontario.ca/copda and look up clinics.
