"Lady Godiva" rides to Downing Street

"Lady Godiva" rides to Downing Street

October 19, 2009 Horsetalk NZ

A woman pushing for Britain to establish an official Museum of the Horse has ridden in the fashion of Lady Godiva to Downing Street to push her cause.

Caroline Anns-Baldock's Lady Godiva was somewhat more modest than the original character, wearing riding boots and a tight skin-coloured body suit.

Here's a video about her ride!

"We are the only European country without a museum to honour the contribution… Continue

Poodles as Horses...and other animals!

Poodle doodles: Dogs are transformed into pandas, horses and even snails in a barking mad grooming craze

They may resemble pandas, buffalos and camels - but these animals are actually poodles, all competing for the title of top dog at 'creative grooming' shows across the U.S.

Something of a canine… Continue

Horses get Hair Extensions - Beautiful or Bizarre??

By Mike Celizic
TODAYShow.com contributor
updated 11:46 a.m. ET, Mon., April 13, 2009

The commercial photographer and a pal were just horsing around one day, playing one of those “What if?” games when the idea hit them: “Hey, wouldn’t it be great, wouldn’t it be really funny to do some shots of horses with big hairstyles, sort of ‘pony pin-up?’ ”

Thus, photographer Julian Wolkenstein told TODAY’s Meredith Vieira Monday, was born the idea that gave birth to a series of images that have become s… Continue

Whoops - Don't drink and ride!!

Police on two continents have proven yet again that riding horses while drunk is more likely to leave you standing in the dock than sitting in the saddle.

Police in the city of Cody, Wyoming, arrested a 28-year-old man for being drunk in public.

He was riding his white horse down a city street during a snowstorm and a passing motorist telephoned police because of concerns the rider and horse were a hazard in the conditions.

Police attended and when the officer stopped the rider to explain the… Continue

Lou the Mule saves woman

McMINNVILLE, Tenn. – Jolene Solomon is beginning the new year with her life, her mule named Lou and little else. The Southern Standard in McMinnville reported Solomon had just finished eating supper on New Year's Day when Lou's braying and acting up got her attention.

Solomon, 63, who lived alone, stepped outside, she saw her house was on fire. She called 911 and as she waited for firefighters, her home and everything in it burned to the ground.

She said her father bought Lou years ago to help… Continue

My bunny is a Tiger/Loin faced dwarf. He's kinda messed up, too. Rabbits teeth grow continualy all their life, and Tiger's teeth are bended outward so I can to cut or go get them cut regularly. He also has an eye problem and an eating disorder, but oh well! He's happy. I like your pictures too. ( please ignore all spelling mistakes! Thanxs)

Hi there!
So sorry not to have replied sooner, when you commented on my photo! I've not been on line much for quite some time, and am only now getting to grips with Barn Mice. It's a great site and I'll be encouraging friends to join in!
The horse I am riding is called Otto, he's looking through the window at a pony called Rocko, being a nosy parker as usual! I bought Otto as a four year old, and he's now coming up to thirteen years old. He's retired from competitions, since he had a nasty accident in the field as a six year old, but we still have fun out hacking. In the picture we were just about to set off for a ride, with my boyfriend tagging along on his mountain bike to shoot some video of us.
Thanks for your comment,
Regards, Char.
