About Me:
Karen is a devoted rider and instructor. She has riden for 22 years and has been coaching for 6 years. Certified by Equine Canada, karen has devoted her time to making an excellent interactive beginner program for both youth and adults. Her back ground as a chemistry teacher has allowed her to creatively design fun interactive activites both mounted and unmounted. Karen's mission statement is to promote the "good" side of the horse industry, buy turning horse lovers into educated horse owners, one hoof print at a time! Karen teaches at several barns in the okanagan area and has a wonderful string of 12 fun safe school horses in all shapes and sizes. Karen offers summer camps, sleep outs, rider development program and horse club saturdays! She has access to a large indoor arena at Mission Creek Ranch, where she runs her kelowna ringing academy and horseclub! We are always looking for new and inovated ways to keep kids and adults interacting with horses on all levels. What ways have you used that works? Remember, our goal is to promote the "good" side of the horse industry, by building horse lovers into horse owners one hoof print at a time!

Helping young riders over come thier first major fall

At some point all beginner riders have thier first fall. The fear of that fall can inhibit the riders growth for months or years to come. What are somethings that you found works to over come this fear.

I know that it takes ten falls to becoime a rider, as it takes 10 falls to psychologically able to get over it with ease. But I believe we can make this less if we provide the coping tools to young riders.

Hello!!! I was wondering if I could come up to you place sometime and use your jumps. I am planning to enter some shows with Nazelli, but I have noreal jumps. I really want to gat her used to real jumps before I enter a show or go to another place to have I lesson with a real jumping coach in Lake Country. Just wondering!!

PS- do you know a guy with key so that I can go up and across and not have to go through the orchards and through other peoples properdy??

Kleng, an 18-year-old Norwegian Fjord horse who has carried hundreds of disabled riders on his strong back over the years at the NorthWest Therapeutic Riding Centre outside Bellingham, Washington, has been honoured for his work.

A $US10,000 reward is being offered by the Bureau of Land Management for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for killing six wild horses in northern Washoe County, Nevada, in early December.
