Excellent article! I find in the showmanship classes I judge the kids do not have a Clue. This explains it very clearly. Thanks!

you do want to dress as nice as your competitors, yes, but to a degree..due to my body shape (a bit overweight) any thing that cuts me in half makes me look heavier than I am, which in any discpline is a tiny drawback, so I don't wear the belt, an...

To be sure about this, read the dress code rules for your show. At the shows I go to a belt is not required but everyone wears one. You do want to dress as nice as your competitors do so that you look well-turned out. Adrienne

It depends on where you are showing. If its a local open fun show then any halter will do, because its more on inhand work, then a halter class so if you wanted a "show" halter you could go for the stock horse type ones with all the bling, or try ...

yep. The new style is belt and buckle less. Check out Hobby Horse's website, because they always keep updated on what new and and whats bad. Of course not everyone is going to not wear a belt, but its now alright to do so :)

e-bay.com I bought all my show stuff there. I have 3 candy apple red rail shirts, candy apple chaps, black chaps, saddle and bridle with bit ($120), and show pants. I spent only $200 for all that.

There are 4 sections that the judge will go through: Right front, Right hind, left hind, left front. You will want to be on the same side as they are when they are on the hind section. As they reach the stomach move to the other for the front. De...

Hi,
I am a Morgan lover too, Have a 6 yo gelding Sunup BoBill, hope to create a lovely dressage horse with him.
He is the second Morgan for me the first was Sunup Tirpitz, had him for 26 years, bought as a yearling and loved him a long time.

What is your mare's pedigree? Do you have a stallion picked out for breeding?

I've got to add a pic of my gelding so you can see him. Your horse is beautiful.

Is there an online newsletter where sponsors can be announced? How many people does it go to?

My very old pony colicked about 2 years ago. While he seemed to be just fine, I have always kept a close eye on him. Because of his age, I give him 'soup' for his meal and I do add oil. Every horse is different of course and while one may only col...

slc2 replied to Linda White's discussion 'Colic' in the group Over 50 crowd
Well, I feel that every colic is different. Ask your vet for suggestions as to why the colic occured (one doesn't always know), and don't worry too much about big pieces of carrot causing colic; it is unusual for that to even be a factor. I don't ...
