About Me:
Hi and thanks for dropping by,
I'm here to help you learn to comunicate, understand and learn from horses, and discover more about who you really are along the way.

I came to horses through a conventional path, (pull the reins back and your pony will stop, kick it and it walks forward) yet have discovered there is so much more to it. I have learnt from people like Monty Roberts, Pat Parelli, and Klaus Ferdinand Hempfling about natural horsemanship. Nevertheless my greatest teachers are undoubtedly the horses I have worked with, as they have given me lessons not only about how to comunicate with them, but how to comunicate with other people, how to overcome my fears and build my confidence, and most recently how the lessons horses have taught me can relate to improving buisnesses!

I would love to share what I have learnt with you, and through online comunication hopefully learn more from you by the questions you may wish to ask!

Kind regards,
Gabrielle

Do you have any pets?
My beautiful 9yr dutch rabbit called Star! Who used to show jump because I was that mad on ponies that I figured why not train a rabbit to do the same!

Helping YOU build relationships with horses, people and yourself

p>

Ever found yourself, mid argument, wondering why you are fighting over something when it would use so much less energy to simply say what it is you are feeling, while remaining calm and relaxed about it?

Or do you do the opposite, staying quiet even though you have what you believe to be a valid point to make, because you are worried about how other people may react to it?

Well I have done both, many times. With people I will often remain quiet even when I feel very strongly about something, and with horses I sometimes find myself really frustrated that they just won't do what I want the too.

Since then I have begun learning more about horses and how they communicate with each other and with people, and have learnt a huge amount from them. They have taught me that I shouldn't need to shout to get my point across, I just need to find a way of explaining it that the person/horse can understand, and also that it is ok to say if you do not agree with something!

These are jus two of many lessons that horses have taught me, simply through my making an effort to understand and listen to them.

I would now like to help you learn and understand the lessons horses have to teach us, through helping you to build a relationship with your horse if you are lucky enough to have one, or simply through what I write and any questions you may wish to ask.

Whatever your career is, wherever it is you struggle or whatever is is you seem to be lacking in life, I would like, through Hop on a Horse, to be able to help you. as horses have helped me.

Your welcome!
I do in a way...The Heartland book series kind of got me into it!
I worked with a pony at my barn because the owner was upset that it didn't get enough work then always bucked off lesson kids. I didn't really have time to ride him so I did A LOT of ground work and bareback bridleless stuff on him. I taught him how to free lunge w/t/c with voice commands, I had to teach him with a whip and line though...never hit him of course! I taught him to follow me and spin, and do turn on forhand/huanches. All without even a halter on. I worked him with tarps and free jumping too. He is great for bareback bridleless work though...I can jump him that way now. I taught him how to stand without the use of crossties and could brush/tack up in a ring or feild!
I really loved working with him that way! He always nickers at me and I had a great time doing free lunging..no other horses at the barn could free lunge WITH actaull transitions! He would always come in the centre with me after! I felt that he was really working for me because he wanted to...It was great!
I still ride him now because I moved up from the pony I was riding when I didn't have time for him. He is a great little jumper and I have sooo much fun riding him all the time! He does love to buck though so it keeps our rides interesting for me and those watching! He really is a god boy now...
I recently was asked to train a TB filly...I'm trying to do stuff like that with her too. She isn't catching on as quck though! I'm trying to use horsemanship with her too It's just such as nice feeling you get when you get them horse/pony going well fro you in the end and you didn't ahve to force it!

You are correct. I believe my horse is "relaxed" when he "gives his back", or his back moves softly up and down as he moves. I achieve this on the lunge line and don't proceed to further work unless I get it. Laura
