What do you do when your beloved horse dies? You remember the good times you had together and that’s exactly what this story is about – a wonderful partnership, a lifetime of riding adventures, and choosing to put a horse down instead of sending him…

Profile Information

About Me:
I have been riding since I was 8 years old and it doesn't matter how many decades ago that was! I owned my own horse when I turned 28 - the first time I could afford such a luxury - and he travelled with our family across Canada every time my spouse was moved - 7 times in total. He died at age 23 and was a wonderful companion. Since then I have been looking for a spendid steed but have decided to lease in the meantime as I meet great people and get to try out various horses. I enjoy learning dressage and some low jumping but especially enjoy trail riding - just being outside on a horse is a great stress release for me. I probably should look into endurance riding but don't know enough about it. I would like to learn more about driving horses in harness so I can still work with them when I get older and possibly have to quit riding. I work out by swimming, running and dancing in order to stay fit for riding. I enjoy seeing younger people take up the sport; i am pleased that this sport is one of the very few gender-equal competitions even at the Olympic level, and it is a sport that includes people of all ages and abilities. There are not many sports that can boast that kind of attraction!

I'm going to risk a pie in the face and say I love winter. It's 24 degrees today, the sky is clear, and I think it's going to really drop tonight. The only thing I need tonight is a comet, LOL, and it will be perfect!
