Kathleen, (and Lauren) try holding the mane when you go over the jumps. Getting left behind is usually a personal balance thing, and gradually you will get the feel of it on your own. When you do get left behind, if you are holding his mane, at leas…

Paige, try half halts and encouraging her to come down onto the bit - it may take a while but it works amazingly! To help her come down onto the bit try longing her with side-reins for short periods of time.

Profile Information

About Me:
I have an 8 year old gray mare named Navajo Blue. She was rescued from the Vernon auction meat pen in 2005, so I'm not sure what breed she is, but I think mostly quarter horse with maybe some mustang and arab blood. We've done some western and some hunter/jumper, as well as trying endurance racing and competitive trail riding. Right now we are working on First Level Dressage. Blue is an evergreen (she's old enough to know better) and she is afraid of having other horses coming near her, strangely enough only when she's under saddle in the warm up arena or the show arena. HMMMM... it's probably just a ploy to freak me out - she's too smart for her own good, but I love her anyway... :)

The horses are good. I just got back from CAthedral lakes yesterday (the 25th) and had a blast! the views were amazing! To make a long story short: I lost my hachet, food was cood, got sick, froze at night, hurt myself, got really really hyper off of lake and mountain water and sugar, Meghn brought me pickels but I only got one because some one stole them, ate some put them down, someone else got them, lost them, and ladedadeda....., ran into a tree after it was really dark, got sap in my hair, put butter in it, did not work, Krista spent and hour with her hands in cold watertrying to get the butter and sap out(bless her), got really cold , in bed could not really breath becasue my nose was pluged, now I got a cough, in morrning had pancake balls because Meghn and Tegan forgot a pan and flipper, went on a easy hike, Kista cought a fish in 'lake of the woods', packed up when home. Oh ya, I forgot to metion that the unimog we were in broke down 20 minutes up the hill, leaving 10 kids in the middle of no where on a mountain with out food or water for about an hour, so ya, we got first chose of seats down the hill. Wow I always leave such long messages on your page, oh well. I am going riding today, my knees have been feeling better, so if you get this message soon like before 12, call me!! See ya!! ~and as for me and my horse I will serve the lord!~

Hi! Ya its the show in Carr Landing. Ya I gotta call you, cause I was hoping you could take blue in that show so that Krista could take Kamber. Krista just started leasing a horse with her sister at the place she takes lessons, but she does not feel confident enough yet so I was hoping she could take Kamber so she can come. Yes you can borrow Kamber for your test thing but you have to find a trailer and then trailer her there and you have you find the time you come out and work with her. Ok. I think that I am going to try to do western on Nazelli, at least for a while, because both her parents were western show horses and she is such a natural. I am stilll going to keep riding and training her in english too though. And on the note of showing more in the fal....and you taking Nazelli.....well, sorry but no. I know that it is not what you want to here, but I am the only one that Nazi listens to, and we work very well together. I was not nervous, but Nazi was scared to death. I know that a couple things were done wrong, an I plan to work and chang them. But thak you so much for offering you are a GREAT friend. GTG-mom needs to computer:) Lexi

Hey Ari!! Wow I have not been on Barnmice for a LONG time!! Anyway, I am having a Great time so far at my grandparents ranch. Just leaving for church now, so I gotta type fast. It was amazing that my horse, Printere, remembered me, and she does every year!!! She is such a sweet girl; she does side pases like its nobodys problem, but that is because she wants to turn around and dash to the baarn. Oh well....Oh, got to go! See you!!!!!
