Thank you! Yes, I think I like his look better then my Arabian... shhhh don't tell him! :P The treeless I have is a Canadian made one, it's a Sensation ride and the reason I bought it was for my back (as well as the horse's of course). This partic...

Very handsome! I just started leasing a heavy horse with a treeless saddle. At first I thought it was too squishy and bouncy. Now I love it. I can feel the muscles in Griffin's back and it helps me move more loosely with them.

Posted 3 photos of Rocky. Have to see if I can get a good one of Spike who is 19hh and Evie, the 18.2hh Percheron mare. Also should get a couple of shots of Doug and Duke, the Belgians that are boarding where I work at the moment.

Midas sounds like he has some great promise in the Dressage world. Look forward to hearing about results when he does get out to compete.

I hear you on some Clydes being a tad bit sensitive, where I work has one that is nervous around men and his face but a real doll at 19hh and still growing.

I love the photos of Midas, he looks like he's a great individual.

You are so right that there is a need for good quality ponies for every discipline and I include pleasure/backyard ponies as a discipline. We've dabbled in ponies off and on over the years and about 6 years ago got back in semi-seriously which is where I was hearing the need for an Open competition circuit as well as promotion to foster sales and breedings - hence the brainwave of starting PBO.

I also see by your photos that you are into the Clydes. I manage a farm that has Clydes and Percherons as well as a breeding/track-layup operation for Standardbreds. Must say I prefer Clydes as my favourite of the draft breeds and always have.

Welcome Angela!

While you are no longer breeding ponies you sound like an enthusiast and would have good input into any pony promotion program. Personally until this year I did not breed ponies - my mom has and is but I was not, so have no vested interest other than seeing a need. I now have a Half-Welsh weanling that hopefully will stay pony sized.

Black Beauty. Hidalgo is a close second. Also, the Lord of the Rings has a lot of horsey scenes in it, even if it isn't really a horse movie per se. Oh, and the Miracle of the White Stallions. Gotta love Lippizaners.

I still find myself on green horses but more and more wish for one that is middle-aged and well trained. (So far I seem to sell them and find another youngster.) I too have ridden greenies for over 50 years. I am usually more conservative now abou...

Looking for an endurance-bred, registered Arab mare for a broodmare. Must be sound to breed but doesn't neccessarily have to be sound to ride. Prefer under 13 years of age and prefer colour other than grey. Please email gallopingpen@shuswap.net.
