Hello all, I totally agree with you on not all animals will tolerate driving. I know first hand! I had a welsh pony mare that we were trying to break to our pair years ago. She did not want anything to do with it and we ended up selling her as a hun…

About Me:
I'm currently on the board for OCDA (Ontario Combined Driving Association)
My boyfriend and I have 2 welsh ponies that he drives in Combined Driving Events all over the place, most of them are in the states so we travel all through the summer!
I'm starting to train a cob, Roger, which I plan on doing some dressage shows this year and I have starting his driving training. I hope for him to be a star! He has been so far, so lets cross our fingers! He just got some new harness made for him that we brought up from PA, and hes getting his own carriage built as we speak. What a spoiled pony!

I hear you on the fun of riding this winter. Yesterday was the first and second time I've ridden since Nationals in mid-October. I re-backed Finnegan and backed for the first time Rocky 2 of the New Forests I've been working with over the winter. Something about wanting to thub not snap if I happened to come off was holding me back.

With Finnegan I can go full steam ahead as last winter we were walk trotting. Rocky is going to be a tad bit slower but once I have him confidently walking and trotting him I hand him over to the Level 2 Eventing Coach who also rides at the barn and get the next beastlie going.

Darlene called me the other night and gave me some of the dates for the pony shows - confirmed are the usual 5-7 that she handles for the Star Search. Definitely Pause-A-Tively Ponies, NEWPA, Sutton, Barrie, Jokers Hill, Summerfest and CNE are confirmed.

Hi Alison:
Thank you for your lovely comment about Rhumba's head shot. She is such a nice mare and we all love her. The small picture is her with her 2007 foal.

I too had to work most of the holidays. I work Xmas Day at Touch N Go, got Boxing Day and New Year's Day off but had to work the Saturday of both weekends

Sorry to hear you folks are down and out with the flu. Poor Hunter as he really can't tell you how he's feeling. How's Darlene's back?

Sorry to hear about the wind storm damage to the truck and fencing.

Take care and see you soon - any word on the dates for the 2009 Star Search Qualifiers?

Had a good holiday - here and there when I got days off.

Wind storm last weekend took the fiberglass roof off the trailer (repairable once the wind dies down and it's not freezing out) and some sheet metal off the front of the barn (again repairable).

How was your holiday?
