How do you keep your balance? With a bareback pad or without? What kind of headgear do you use?

Why is it GaWaNi PonyBoy can communicate with horses so well? 7 Replies

Do you think a person is born knowing "horse" or can they learn it? Do you feel some people are unable to do it?

I remember when I joined the board, I guess it was February of this year. I was so depressed, and so over trying to figure out what to do with Oliver, my mustang.... and then I read some of Pony's stuff..... and he brought to me, "defining my space".... and "spending time with your horse".... and to define my space I ran my youngin around and around and around he was such a brat, for 4 months... I did not let him close to me at ALL.... and then I just hung out with him and tried to trust him.... we are so much better off now..... I need to read a Horse is a Horse... and then I think I will have some idea of things that Oliver and I can try that Pony would approve of... :) I did go off on a Chris Irwin tangent that is helping too though.... I like both of them.. they are so c a l m... :)

I kinda got tired of some of the 2 faced charachers on there - No offence to pony at all , I Was concerned when I heard about people bringing there horse to him to see if the horse and the human were compatable , That seemed strange and kinda like playing God . JEss

and that is why I was so sad on his forum..... Marti, when I explained that I was learning from Oliver, since he knew how to communicate in Horse and I did not, I got slammed, LOL.... this was such a good idea you had so we can talk about him here. :)

I hope this group can honor PonyBoy and his methods, and that if he ever reads it he will be pleased.

One of my favorite quotes of PonyBoy's is "Horses know how to do everything that is possible for them to do from the day that they are born. It is the rider who has the problem communicating". from Out of the Saddle

I learned about Gawani Ponyboy a long time ago, about 6 years ago..... I also read a book on Woman and Horses and he writes alot of exerpts in there....

my favorite ponyboy saying is from horse follow closely and it is about how the indians used to treat their warrior ponies with so much respect that sometimes they would take them in the house..... the horses were that important to them. I have lots of them
