Barbara, I've ridden with Harry Whitney many times. He's an outstanding horseman and advocate for the horse.

Parelli Celebration Highlights Humane Society
of the United States Rescue Horses

This weekend at the Ft. Worth Celebration, Pat played with Thistle, a sweet-natured five-year-old mustang who was rescued during a large-scale neglect investigation in Nebraska earlier this year. Since the rescue, Thistle has been under the care of the Doris Day Horse Rescue and Adoption Center until he arrived in Ft. Worth on Thursday. Each day of the Celebration Pat played with Thistle, and by the end of the third day Pat was riding the mustang without reins leaving many saying this was the best training session they have seen Pat lead. It was truly amazing to watch, and the experience is first hand proof that the Parelli method can help any animal if you put the relationship first. Read more about the Parelli Humane Society of the United States partnership here. Following the event this weekend, Thistle was made available for adoption to a selected, loving home.

Pat and Linda Parelli are my favorites!!! I learned so many helpful things from their program. I'm very happy to be preparing to go to the Lakeland Florida Parelli Celebration in a few days. It will be good to see them live again. I've have been to two of their traveling shows in the past. I have their Level 1, old and new Level two, Level 3 and the Horse Behavior set.
I have a 8 year old QH that I've been working with. We are probably about later half of Level 2. I did it more for me then my horse, I could not get over being afraid of riding and their techniques helped me alot. Apparently my horse likes them too cause we have a great relationship. My horse and I both need things to focus on when riding. He needs variety to not get bored and I need specific things to focus on so I relax a little.
I hope your move is a positive experience.

Hello, what do you all think of Parelli? I trained my 3 yr old QH in it. He did amazing, he came from a troubled horse to a obediant and calm horse.

I'm originally from England so the whole cowboy mentality was totally foreign to me before moving Stateside in 1993.
I appreciate common sense in all forms and value horsemanship.

We are fortunate to have so many good horse people to help us along. There is enough that we can choose which we think will work for us and our horse or if necessary experiment till we find what is right for us . It's nice to have choices. I don't think I would have ever made it in the old 'tie um down & sack em out days"
I'll have to take a peek at your Jason Patrick when time permits. Just got done with a very late lunch and am ready to go spend some time with my guy, Cash. Planning on a ride!

Anyone else a fan of Jason Patrick?
I saw him at the Can Am (www.canamequine.ca) in London, Ontario and in Nova Scotia earlier this year and now I am hooked as a fan. I love his down to earth style, common sense approach and, who can forget, his green boots! :)

I just got home from a long day at the Dennis Reis Program. I was planning on going tomorrow too. I've decided to do some other things. I will just say "I" personally relate to most other natural horsemanship trainers more then I do him. It was a much smaller gathering then I've been to or seen for others. They were televising some of the portions and those really drug out cause everything had to be prep'd and sometimes they'd retape segments. After two hours in the morning we'd only really seen one session. Buying his programs was plugged way more then I've ever experienced too. He does have to make a living and support a few people that were traveling with him. He does have his followers that find him to be wonderful.
His wifes Arabian was fabulous and she can ride awesome! The 4h cheeseburgers hit the spot for lunch.
One section was done on bits and bridles and that had parts in it that I wish I could remember but by then I was having a really hard time staying awake. That bed is gonna feel really good after sitting on bleachers all day. I'm not too old to ride horses but I'm way to old to sit on those bleachers that long. Keep Horsen Around!!

I watched him on RFDTV. I do not understand a word he says. LOL... his diction or volume or something is too low for me.... but so what right? go for it!!
