I just performed my freestyle at my last show and got a 67%! It was my horse's first freestyle ever and my second freestyle(although it had been a year). At first my horse wasn't quite sure what to do but he listened to me and performed a solid test. Our freestyle has a 60's theme and the judges seemed to like the music. Hopefully the more we do it the better it will become!

I agree with you Becky. Traditionally vocals have been permitted but sung words were not. Now we see songs with words used in recognized dressage shows all over! I feel that it takes away just a bit, but that's only my personal opinion. A Riverdance Kur would be fantastic! There's a great variety of tempo and sounds to that soundtrack! I'll keep that in mind for this year too!

I love kurs that are non-vocal. My husband put together the music for a friend 's ride using music only from 'River Dance'. The friend won her division and had many complements on her music!
Anky's music was sensational, personally I would say her music was non-vocal as her singing was not 'words'. But that is just my opinion.

Well said, slic2! There are two sides to every issue (sometimes there are more), and we need to be aware of all of them. I agree that there are horses who benefit from being ridden for short periods behind the vertical, which, as you say, is RAD...
