oops,sorry IR is short version of "Insulin Resistant",unable to tolerate
fructans,starches,sugars in grass,or hay.can lead to laminitis..
very long story with Chocolate..but one of the immediate solutions,amongst many others..is we soak her hay for an hour before feeding it to her. thank you Mika,for asking.my Appy's name is "Mikka" !

Hello out there ! This morning we loaded our 5 yr old Appendix ,named
Nairobi,He is off for training.He and Chocolate have been a "couple" since their days at the Horse Rescue,and here with us for 2 1/2 years..first time being separated.It went incredibly well...surprisingly..so I
am very relieved right now.I spent the morning with Chocolate doing our
regular routine.Cheers for now ! Debs

Hello out there ! I have a stubborn strong minded little Exmoor x pony,
that I am training to come with me up the road to collect the mail.Her name is Chocolate ! She has also been diagnosed with IR,this past winter,,so her daily walks are very important...of course,they are good
for me tooooo..nuff for now Debs
