I saw you!! I was shocked to see a clyde cross that looked just like my guy. How exciting to see a clyde hackney in a dressage mag!!!

Good for you on your rides, Amy. I have a couple of friends very happy with their Tuckers. It is a lot of fun pushing to new limits, for your horse and for yourself, isn't it?

I have a friend looking for a grey percheron or percheron cross.
Will be driven. Know of anyone?

If you know of one please drop me a line at info@horsejobs.ca
Thanks

Thanx Ann. I actually found a wonderful saddle last Friday that fits my Annie beautifully. It is a Tucker plantation saddle, wide tree. I've had my girl for just a week, and we did 2 awesome trail rides this weekend. She went up & down big hills, some sandy hills, some very steep. The saddle was great, very comfortable & secure. I am so impressed with Annie's willingness and versatility. Before I got her she was used primarily for driving & indoor dressage lessons for children, so these rides were something completely different for her. Oh, and did I mention she's my first horse? We're a very green team, but managed to stay with the group on both trail rides. Life is good.

Amy, You asked what I am selling off in the way of saddles, just a couple of inexpensive synthetic English saddles. they are adequate for some riding but not elegant. They were just wide enough for the Arabs, who have very wide flat, short backs which always surprises people, but probably too narrow for the young sport mares I will start this winter/spring. For them I will use either my ancient Lovatt and Rickets, which has an adjustable gullet-I'll bet it was one of the very early ones to have this- or the Sensation treeless saddle. Depending on how the girls behave and how they ft it, I may use also/instead my medium-wide Western stock saddle to help me stay aboard, until I think I will not be dumped off in the snow!!

Hi, all. Just joined Barnmice and this group. I just love the amazing temperaments of the draft crosses and their versatility. As an over-40 (just! :-) re-rider, the sanity of the crosses really appeals. I am working with my 4 yr old Clyde x TB mare and hoping to taker her to a low-level event or two next year. She is a sweetheart, and SO much fun. I'm looking forward to reading others' experiences.

Hi Ann, Thanx for your input in saddles. I looked at the types that you mentioned, and they didn't really do it for me..... There is a Tucker saddle available for a 10 day trial, so I think I'll try that. They have models in wide and xtra wide trees. I'll let ya all know how my trial goes. What saddles are you selling off? Has anyone found an aussie that fits a draft cross?

I had a Christmas card today that said all the regular things and "oh by the way, we are spending the winter in Florida". What is wrong with this picture as we wait for the freezing rain tomorrow.
